About Inventions and Patents
The journey of an invention begins with a simple idea. From brainstorming concepts to creating prototypes, inventors dedicate time and effort to bring their visions to life. However, turning an invention into a protected intellectual property involves critical steps.
Patents are legal protections that grant inventors exclusive rights to their creations for a specific period. The process includes conducting thorough research, preparing detailed documentation, and filing an application with the appropriate patent office. Patents safeguard innovations and encourage creativity by preventing unauthorized use or duplication.
Whether it's a groundbreaking technology or a simple improvement to an everyday object, the world of invention is driven by curiosity, determination, and the desire to solve problems in new and innovative ways.
Past Inventions 1998-2000
This drill light concept below was sent to Sears, Roebuck, and Co. headquarters for Black & Decker portable drills.
I didn’t know that Black & Decker owned DeWalt. They sent this letter to the patent office and returned it below to get a patent.
I was an installer who needed this feature for dark room installations but didn’t have the money to get a patent.
Two years later, DeWalt came out with a new drill with a light!
